Time on your hands?
Do you still feel you have something to contribute?
Wakefield u3a connects people who want to keep their minds active, sharing
and staying involved.
Welcome to Wakefield and District u3a
u3a is a UK‑wide movement for people who want to keep their minds active, stay physically active and share their interests in a friendly, member‑led community. Local u3as are run by volunteers and offer many groups, activities and opportunities to try something new
If you’ve got time to spare, you’ll find friendly groups exploring everything from art and history to guitar, walking and pétanque. You don’t need qualifications — just curiosity and a willingness to join in.
Our groups are run by members for members. Every activity begins because someone had an interest to share, and you may find yourself doing something new — or discovering you still have something to contribute.

Your Committee and You
Our committee helps shape the direction of Wakefield u3a, supporting our groups, planning ahead and keeping everything running smoothly.
They work to make sure our u3a stays active, welcoming and member‑led — and there are always ways to contribute if you’d like to be part of our future.
