Creative Writing groups are about fun! For individuals who think “I could write something” be it poems, short stories, right up to a book, -be it fiction or non fiction.
Usual format of a meeting, group leader emails out something like a picture, (write a short story from what you see) a 16 line poem title, and maybe the first sentence of a short story, so yes, there is “homework” involved, but group members can write as little or as much as they wish to. At the next meeting writings are read out and discussed, all great fun as writing is meant to be!
Tea and Coffee are an important part of the creative process, together with a spoonful of laughter!
The Creative Writing Group meets between 2 and 4pm fortnightly at Wakefield Baptist Church, Belle Isle Avenue, WF1 5JY.
Telephone Helen 07491 669742 for details.
Creative writing: what's that you ask?
Every two weeks we are set a task.
To write a poem, short story or two,
The topics are varied to stimulate you.
A photo included to get ideas flowing,
Pieces are written who knows where they are going?
We laugh, reminisce. Meetings are fun.
There is life, mystery, death. Something for everyone.
Discussions are lively, life stories we share,
If this sounds for you, we'd welcome you there.
