What does the Committee Group Liaison Controller do?

Allocate each committee member an equal number of groups for them to carry out a group liaison role

Take on the liaison role for your allocation and carry out the liaison duties as follows:

  • Act as liaison between the committee and group coordinators
  • Pass on to your group coordinators any relevant information from committee meetings, any changes in legislation and information from the National Office.
  • Carry out group visits to promote the work of the committee and to interact with the group coordinator and group members
  • Report to the committee and the web manager of any significant change to groups, such as a new leader, change of venue etc.
  • Be supportive of group coordinators - giving help and advice when and if it is requested
  • Report to the committee of any disputes which arise in the running of any group where advice is requested.
  • Encourage the participation of groups at the annual membership renewal day, Group Coordinator meetings, Silver Sunday and any other promotional event.

Provide help and support to other committee members if and when required for them to carry out their duties of group liaison

Contact each group coordinator prior to the printing of the annual group list to ascertain the following:

  • Will the group continue to run during the coming year, if so what is the proposed start date
  • Any change of group coordinator details
  • Any change of venue
  • Any change of meeting day/time
