New Members at our Coffee Mornings
We hold a very popular Coffee Morning at Brook House Club, on the third Friday of every month.
Coffee and biscuits are served at 10am and there is the opportunity to meet, greet and chat until our monthly guest speaker takes to the stage.
All members are invited and a charge of £2 is made for room-rent and refreshments.
Non-members who are interested in joining may also attend and will not be charged. There will be an opportunity for them to join Wakefield u3a at this event.
We know it can be difficult to walk into an event where everybody seems to know each other but you will be welcomed by our greeter(s) and invited to sit at the New Members table where we can get to know you, ask what interests you are looking for and hopefully assist you to get the most out of your membership.
Venue: Brook House Club, 221 Barnsley Road, Wakefield WF1 5NU
Events such as theatre-visits and meals out are open to all members. These will be advertised on our 'Events' page.
Of course you will probably be looking for a Group that interests you and all our current Groups are listed on the Groups Page.
Occasionally we find that some Groups are full and not accepting new members, and we then open up a short-term New Members Group where those who have not yet been able to join a Group can socialise together and arrange their own activities.
What Our Members Say:
Wakefield u3a is shaped by its members — people who share their time, skills and enthusiasm. Here’s what some of our newer members have said about joining:
“I joined to make new friends and pursue interests.”
“Joining was easy and we were made very welcome.”
“I’ve already joined two groups and booked theatre tickets.”
"It's easy to join, everyone is very welcoming and friendly and I have joined a number of classes"
As a new member of Wakefield and District u3a you will most likely be looking for ways to participate.
You will be welcome at our monthly Coffee Mornings which are held at Brook House Club.
It can be a little awkward to walk into a large room where everybody already seems to know everybody else but you will be welcomed by our greeter(s) and invited to sit at the New Members table where we can get to know you, ask what interests you are looking for and hopefully assist you to get the most out of your membership.
