We meet once a month on the third Thursday of the month. Our venue is Sandal Methodist Church, Barnsley Road, meeting at 2 p.m. A contribution to the room rent is required.

The group is very much member led, with discussions to decide which topics we look at and volunteers can prepare and present their findings. We also encourage group discussions but you can just come along and listen if you prefer. We sometimes welcome a guest speaker and tea, coffee and biscuits are available

Our main focus is to look at historical events, inventions and improvements that have affected the way we live today although some of the more interesting Kings and Queens will still put in an appearance. We will also pay attention to events in other countries such as France, Russia and America. You will be made very welcome if you would like to join this friendly group………
